November 9th Contra Dance!

Our next contra dance of the season is on Saturday November 9th. ‘Trees are For Hugging’ is providing our great live music and Greg Mckenzie will be our caller.

The details:  We’ll have a 1/2 hour lesson/warm-up starting at 7pm. It’s a great idea to arrive a little early, especially if it’s your first time dancing with us. Regular dancers, we also need you to come and help at this time. It makes for a great dance experience for everyone and gives us time to get to know each other. The more the merrier, bring a friend or two. We love sharing the dance floor with new friends!

Cost: $8/person – $6/students-  $20 families – children 10 and under are free with a paying supervising adult.

Soft-soled, non-marking shoes are recommended. Pine Forest Grange  is located at 63214 Boyd Acres Road, Bend, OR. (Grange halls are alcohol, drug, and smoke free zones- a healthy gathering place for family friendly groups like ours)

October 12th Contra Dance!

October is the month of our first contra dance of the 2019-2020 season. On Saturday the 12th, here to kick it off will be the High Country Dance Band with Ric Goldman calling!

Contra Dance on Saturday April 13th!

Greetings, friends!  We’re so excited to gather and dance with you! We have Ric Goldman coming over to call our dance, accompanied  by one of our favorite local bands, the Grandview Céilí Band, Saturday April 13th. This will be our last dance until October, so come and let’s make it a party!

Square Dance Lessons

If you would like to enjoy more year-round Central Oregon dancing and improve your Contra Dance skills, there is an opportunity for square dance lessons in Bend. If you attended one of the Bachelor Buttes’ Community Square Dances, you experienced how easy and fun square dancing can be.  Our first lesson is $5/person Thursday Feb 21st 6-8pm  at the Pine Forest Grange where we hold our Contras. (See Attached Flyer) You will have an excellent instructor and support from friendly, experienced dancers we call “angels.”  Wear comfortable, casual clothing and shoes that will easily move on the wood floor.  We want you to join us in the great fun we have at the Bachelor Beauts Square Dances and other dances in the central Oregon area.   We look forward to seeing you this Thursday.   -Ron Bell-Roemer

Free Community Dance this Saturday 2-16

Our Square Dance friends who help us by providing a dance venue for our contra dances have a special invitation for us. The Bachelor Beauts square dancers are putting on a community dance free of charge from 6-7:30 on this Saturday, February 16th at the Pine Forest Grange. Everyone is welcome, no partner or experience necessary to attend, all figures will be taught – see the following information and attached flyer, So if you need to warm up during Winterfest this weekend, come and join us for an hour or so- participate and make some friends.

From Kay Bithell-Don’t miss your last chance to kick up your heels this winter at our Friendly & Free Community Dance to be held next Saturday, February 16th, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the Pine Forest Grange.  Get exposed to our free samples of square and round dancing.  We’ll have you dancing in no time.  I’ve attached a flyer with all the details.  Come in the back door near the back parking lot and be sure to sign in.  And you are certainly welcome to stay afterward and watch our more experienced dancers whirl around and have a great time square and round dancing.  Sure hope you can join us.
Beginner mainstream square dance lessons will start Thursday, February 21st, 6:00 to 8:00 pm also at the Pine Forest Grange.  That first sampler lesson will cost $5.  If you would like to continue lessons, there will be 15 more lessons ending April 14th.  This 8-week session will cost $75 and will be held on Sunday and Thursday evenings.  A flyer will be available at the Feb. 16th Community Dance

Hello Dance Friends! Can you believe it’s already time for another contra dance? Hooray!

Please join us this Saturday for our February Dance. We have an all-locals line up for you, with David Stewart AND Ron Bell-Roemer sharing calling duties, accompanied by the Grandview Céilí Band. As a special treat, we’ll have homemade carrot cake for sale, $4 per slice–all funds raised support our contra dance group. So be sure and bring a little extra cash.In the spirit of the Valentine’s Day season, we encourage you to wear red to this dance.
